Our Class media above. We will watch the 8 min video together on the 29th.

Participants Comments Preceding Meeting

Nur Sets The Stage: I love the feeling of expansiveness and silence that arises in the space between thoughts. Most often however I find that thoughts crowd in and gather up the attention. The usual approaches I am familiar with e.g. allowing them to pass like clouds, focus on breath, naming thinking and returning to meditation, etc seem to offer only a brief respite from the onslaught of thoughts.
The central question for me is how to practically increase the frequency and duration of these spaces. NUR

Count Me In: I am not sure what it is that I am attempting to communicate here. Consequently it might be that it is coming from feeling rather than thinking. This work with consciousness is very appealing or stimulating to me. The space between thoughts as consciousness is way new for me. It opened new ways of being or of how things are for contemplation for me. This is mixed with the also new idea about consciousness being the energy or life force that is running through everything and is in fact, everything! So again I am not sure what you are hoping for here Shams but exploration of consciousness is very much of interest from this I, however I am not sure what not thinking looks like but open to trying. Hidayat

Practices For This Next Week

Nur & Shams will go for more walks in nature hoping to open to that state of feeling beyond thinking. Hidayat is doing something similar maybe in regard to some of the ideas we exchanged on the 29th. and perhaps even getting momentary glimpsed of the 3rd .
